Tacoma is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Tacoma follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Review of the Dahlia Trail garden. Can't say much about the rest of the park since we only stopped in for a quick visit of their floral garden. Beautiful dahlias, roses, fuschias, and many other flowers in this garden. We saw a handful of dahlias with cute bees settling down in between their petals for the night. We saw a lot of photographers with clients throughout the beautiful park on a Sunday evening too.

Saw this place near the Point Defiance Park and decided to check the flowers. You open the metal gates to get in. It was a paradise with lovely flowers. So many variety and colors. Heavenly.

This may have been the highlight of our visit to the PNW. Stopped by near sunset and the dahlia were amazing. Highly recommended. And the rose garden is connected so it’s a must visit for you flower lovers.

September 18, 2022, a perfect day to visit the dahlia gardens at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. You don't need to go into the zoo to go through the Botanical Gardens, they are in the meadow surrounded by 5 N. Waterfront Dr. and Roberts Garden Dr. The The gardens are inside a fenced area that keeps the deer from eating all the blossoms. We were there at about 11:30 and it was 68 degrees. Perfect for a leisurely stroll. A slight breeze made it chilly in the shade but by the time we walked around the garden we had to remove our jackets. There were a fair amount of people there but not crowded. My only disappointment was there were no plant tags on the dahlias to identify them.

Explore this amazing park. It has something year round. So much to see and an amazing park to spend some time sitting, reflecting. Watch the wildlife and amazing color arrangements painted like an artist on this earthly canvas.
